The Kumasi Metropolitan Assembly (KMA) has taken delivery of computers, accessories and scanner to strengthen the operation of its marriage, births and deaths registry.
These are meant to aid accurate collection and compilation of data at the registry.
The equipment was a donation from Ecobank and on hand to do the presentation at a ceremony was its Northern Sector Zonal Manager, Mr. Abraham Adu-Kwarteng.
He indicated that it was part of the bank’s corporate social responsibility.
He spoke of their decision to support the training of the staff at the registry to modernize – computerize its operation.
Mr. Osei Assibey-Antwi, the Metropolitan Chief Executive (MCE), said the assembly was grateful to the bank for the gesture.
He indicated that the manual way of keeping data at the registry was not helpful - not quite safe as records could either be misplaced or even erased as the years went by because they were handwritten.
