The killing of a pastor of the Assemblies of God church in Tema Community 4 has sparked an intense online debate over religion and the promises it makes to its followers which never seem to get fulfiled.
The pastor was stabbed to death in church, the house of God, whilst preparing to come out and deliver his usual Sunday sermon to his congregation. A man of God being killed in God’s own house is surely a cause for alarm about what benefits one accrues from being a Christian that is unavailable to the believer.
Founding Editor of ghanacelebrities.com, Chris-Vincent Agyapong Febiri, has queried his followers about the use of a God who promises one protection but can’t protect his own messengers in his own house?
Writing on Facebook, Chris said, in that case, God is as useless as lipstick on a pig because he really gives his followers no special protection than others.

Anytime God, I mean the Abrahamic God is given the opportunity to show his might, he woefully disappoints. Yet he makes so many promises and claims which mounting evidence contradict. This same God says at 2 Thessalonians 3:3 through his chosen man that “But the Lord is faithful, and he will strengthen you and protect you from the evil one.”
Yet when evil looms against his people, he fails to show up.
Today, at church, a place where he is said to dwell, one of his men, was stabbed to death—and he did nothing about it. The pastor faced uncommon evil, and he didn’t honour his promise.
Why be friends, let alone worship a God who does not keep to his promise to you? Why keep yours to him then?
A God, a delusion of credulity!
The evidence all point to the fact that, the conception of a God is our infantile attempt to understand our universe and it is entirely wrong.
We are animals, belonging to the genus homos, one of many species that once existed and now the others are extinct. We are nothing special—and have no relationship with any God.

Have you witness any disaster, like what happened in our country, do you think God did not know of that? well it obvious you have no clue of the things of the spirit, you may want to inquire more, broaden your horizon, learn ask the Holy spirit to teach you. I beg of you not to talk like this to God.
Chris Vincent, please ask God to forgive you. else you will die like a Christmas goat.
King Nebuchadnezzar on my mind...
Chris may God have mercy on you.
Mercy and atonement on your head. May you beredeemed from darkness in Jesus mighty name.
That is rather how powerful God is. He watched wicked rulers, Pharao and Pilate assassinate children in search for baby Moses and Jesus. That God still reigns, where is Pharao, where is Pilate. He decided to let Joseph and Mary ran with baby Jesus to seek refuge in Egypt even though he could have cased the end of Pilate by just a wink. That god still reigns, where is Pilate. It takes spiritual minds to interpret spiritual things not lipstick and p!gs. ComputersRuleTheWorldButGodIsInControl
Are Africans making these comments? You people had a religion long before Christianity. What was it? Don't tell you've also been brainwashed by the white religion and that you believe all that ***barred word*** and promises about what will happen to you after you die? As I write this, millions of blacks are beginning to realize that their culture was erased and that they have been following a religion that approved their enslavement. They are finally opening their eyes to reality.
Chris, God is not blind like you or any other person. did you hear what the doer said about his uncle that led to the killing of the man of God?. we human are not committed to the God we claim to serve both Christians and Muslims even you chris I don't know if you are an atheist or traditionalist....
How could we also emphatically say that the pastor was righteous because God cannot look at sins that is why Christ on the cross, God turn his face away from him because it is believed that by then Christ has carried all our sins on his shoulders. So my brother you might be a lawyer living in the UK and having food on the table everyday hence you are convinced that all is well but please learn to appreciate God, and you would understand him well enough not to write this kind of things.
To be very candid, I have nothing against the Editor, One thing that makes me love to be a Christian is the fact that God did not intervened when Christ faced death on the cross but Christ overcame death by His resurrection; the resurrection of Lazarus, and the fact that when he appears the second time, the deformed dead will resurrect in perfect bodies, finally death of a Christian is a temporal sleep; look at technological advancement of our world today yet what God has prepared for the righteous has not come to mind or seen before, this gives me an insight of the new Jerusalem, I rest my case.
