At least 15 shops, close to Kasoa Datus School Complex in the Awutu Senya East Municipality of the Central Region, were razed down by fire.
According to reports, the Saturday afternoon fire burnt shops and its contents running into millions of cedis into ashes.
TV repair shops, decoration shops, provision stores, and carpentry shops were destroyed by the fire.
In an interview with Adom News, ADO1 Charles Nyameyire in charge of operations at the Buduburam Ghana National Fire Service station,who confirmed the incident, said the cause of the fire was unknown
He stated that firefighters from the station received a distress call around 1:06 pm and they arrived at the scene at about 1:15 pm.
ADO1 Nyameyire said the fire was intense, but the firefighters managed to preventthe fire from spreading to other shops.
The victims have appealed to the government and well-meaning individuals to come to their aid.
