The Greater Accra Regional Police Command has indicated its readiness to provide adequate security to members of the Progressive Peoples Party (PPP) who would be embarking on a demonstration on Thursday.
The demonstration dubbed "Ayefe Notse Anti-Corruption Demonstration is in protest against what the PPP says is rampant corruption and bad governance in the country.
Although the police service declined to grant the PPP protection about three weeks ago, it confirmed its decision in an interview with Citi News.
According to the Greater Accra Regional Police Commander, DCOP Christian Tetteh Yohonu, the PPP would be given adequate security during their protest.
We have already told them that we are ready and we have been expecting their letter a long time. I am sure by this time they have delivered it although I have not seen it but we dont have any problem because we are ready for them he confirmed.
