Fifty-four members of the National Democratic Congress in the Eastern Region have filed their nominations to contest executive positions in the region.
The regional office of the party closed nominations on October 31.
According to the acting Administrator at the regional office, Mr Blavo Edem Believe, nominations were opened on Monday, October 27.
Only 13 women out of the number are contesting.
The main positions being contested include regional chairman, vice chairman, propaganda secretary, deputy propaganda secretary, treasurer and deputy treasurer, while the region would also be electing the youth and the women�s organisers.
In all, there are 17 positions to be contested.
The regional office is scheduled to hold elections for the youth and women organisers and their deputies on November 15, this year.
Elections for substantive positions, he stated, would, however, be held on November 19, 2014.
Meanwhile, all parties, he said, had heightened their campaigns to reach out to more delegates.
Currently, the party�s regional office has been flooded with posters from all the contestants, including those vying for national executive positions.
