A Political Scientist, Dr. Amoako Baah has threatened to resort to the court to compel the National Disaster Management Organisation (NADMO) Boss, Kofi Portuphy, to resign as the NADMO Coordinator.

According to him, governments decision to maintain him as the NADMO boss is a clear violation of Article 78, section 3 of the Constitution.

There have been several calls for Portuphy to resign as the Coordinator of NADMO.

Many have argued that his continuous stay in office, weeks after being sworn in as the National Chairman of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) is unacceptable.

In an interview with Citi News, Dr. Amoako Baah indicated that the government should get him out of office as NADMO boss or face him in court.

the Attorney General should read the law and tell them you cant do that, you ought to resign.

According to him, government should seek further interpretation and permission from Parliament if it still wants to maintain Portuphy as the NADMO Coordinator.

We have to go to Parliament for the Speaker to appoint a Committee and then look at the situation and come out and tell us that it is ok for you to hold this positionhe cannot hold both positions at the same time.

Mr. Portuphy was elected the National Chairman of the NDC in 2014.
