The NPP parliamentary candidate for Awutu Senya West Constituency in the Central Region, Nenyi George Andah, has expressed strong confidence that voters in the constituency will vote massively against the current MP and Minister of Foreign Affairs, Hannah Tetteh, in the December 7, 2016 elections.
According to the aspiring Member of Parliament (MP), Hannah Tetteh has achieved nothing for the constituency even though she has served two terms as MP and minister of state.
Speaking at his campaign launch over the weekend, George Andah sounded sure and determined to defeat the incumbent MP in the upcoming elections.
He is of a strong belief that the people of Awutu Senya West would vote for change in 2016 and ignore the empty pronouncements of Hannah Tetteh.
Mr. Andah said, “It is not about how big and influential you are. It is about service to God and Country. It's about respect for the people, their development. The electorates of Awutu Senya West are very discerning, and they have said they will vote for Change instead of voting for arrogance. The 2016 election in Awutu Senya West is not going to be about 'heavy weights'. It's not going to be about deceiving the electorate with last minute projects and using money to buy votes just to win the election and abandon the people. It is about voting for a better future.”
He pointed out that the coming elections in the constituency are going to be all about the people of Awutu Senya West.
“It’s going to be about working hard and smart with the youth, uniting the constituency, listening, and with the right messages and most importantly putting the electorate at the heart of everything we do.”
He said the people are now ready to elect him as their next MP, and Nana Akufo-Addo as the next President of Ghana, adding that Akufo-Addo’s policy of one factory one district, would address the unemployment situation in the country.
He urged supporters and sympathizers of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) to work hard in these few days to elections to wrestle power from the ruling National Democratic Congress (NDC).
This, Nenyi George Andah, said would free Ghanaians from the current economic hardship being experienced.
He also urged them to bury their differences and stay united to prosecute an effective and vigorous campaign that would position the NPP as the viable alternative party poised to be elected back into power.
He told supporters that Ghanaians were yearning for change and that change could only be realized if the youth supported the leadership of the party from the polling station through to the national level to convince the electorate to vote for the party.
He opined that, effective campaigning at the grass-roots level by all was very critical as it would brighten the fortunes of the NPP in the upcoming presidential and parliamentary elections.
George Andah also stressed that unity at all levels of the party was an important requirement towards ensuring an NPP victory, adding that, the NPP in Awutu Senya West was very focused and united towards winning both the presidential and parliamentary seat, which is currently being occupied by Hanna Serwaa Tetteh.
According to him, “the NDC had destroyed the affairs of the country which had brought untold hardships on Ghanaians,” calling on the people to embark upon a clean campaign devoid of insults and personal attacks since such a move would make the party more attractive to floating voters to enable them vote massively for the party.
He further entreated them to consider their current living conditions and give the NPP another chance to properly manage the affairs of the nation as it had the proven track record of being a better manager of the economy under former President Kufuor’s administration.
John Boadu, the Acting General Secretary of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) on his part, said the imminent change would be experienced in all parts of the country and, therefore, entreated party loyalists to come out in their numbers to convince Ghanaians to vote for the NPP.
He also pointed out that the President John Dramani Mahama and his NDC have nothing good to offer the people of Ghana and that they have no message for Ghanaians.
According to him, John Mahama has nothing meaningful to tell the people for which they could vote for him, and that the smear campaign the NDC had launched against Nana Akufo-Addo will fall flat on their faces.
He urged party members to vote for Mr Andah and Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo in the December elections polls.
