Ghana’s President, Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo- Addo would be unable to attend an ECOWAS mini-summit at The Gambia today.
For this reason, he has designated his immediate predecessor, President Mahama to represent him at the summit. Before retiring from office, President Mahama had been instrumental in mediating the current political situation in The Gambia.
In a statement signed and copied to Peacefmonline.com by the Acting Director of Communications of the Golden Jubilee House, Mr. Eugene Arhin, it noted that President Akufo- Addo “is of the view that the continuing involvement of former President Mahama in the mediation process in the Gambia would assist the process.”
