New Patriotic Party Member of Parliament for Assin Central, Kennedy Ohene Agyapong says he will personally ensure that former Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Ghana Cocoa Board (COCOBOD), Dr. Stephen Kwabena Opuni, is put behind bars.
According to him, Dr Opuni presided over corruption during his tenure and believes this affected cocoa production in Ghana, hence he must be exposed and jailed to serve as a deterrent to others.
“Opuni will go to jail and I will make sure he pays dearly for his crimes. If we refuse to jail him, Ghanaians will vote against us in the next four years and so we need to get corrupt officials like him away from the country” he said.
Mr Kennedy Agyapong was speaking on Adom TV’s Morning Show “Badwam” Tuesday.
President Akufo-Addo, in a letter dated January 12, 2017, and signed by the Executive Secretary to the President, Nana Asante Bediatuo, directed Dr. Opuni to vacate his post pursuant to section 14(1) of the Presidential (Transition) Act, 2012 (Act 845).
Hon Kennedy Agyapong argues that Dr Opuni may have been removed from office, but his “deals” had cost the country dearly and therefore “it is time we make him pay for his bad deeds”.
Mr Kennedy Agyapong further alleged that the COCOBOD boss sneaked into his office and started shredding documents believed to be fishy contracts he signed while in office to cover up from the incoming transition team.
“Opuni went to his office on Tuesday at 1 am and started shredding documents. He again went there on Wednesday at 2 am to do the same thing and I will expose him. Why is he doing that, is it because he knew he would be sacked” he quizzed.
“What he forgot was that he already took a snap shot of those documents and we will deal with him drastically” he declared.

...bogus politics
Ken dont worry, opuni, asiedu nketia, kwasi pratt, ibrahim mahama, lordina mahama are all going to jail.
We all knew what went on in the previous government and especially Opuni when was at standard board. Let us be a little bit citizens and say the truth when its due.Infact this opuni man has made a lot of blandness and plundering.
Who are you to send someone to Jail?, people like Ken MADE NPP lost 2012 elections, he always have something to say , but it always doesn't make sense at all. K Agyapong will always make a baseless allegations, without evidence, he will turn around and apologies and tell us that, her mother's death have affected his brain. When will Ken Learn and talk sense at all?. I'm happy NPP didn't include him in their campaign team in 2016, otherwise things wouldn't have been this way. Mr Agyapong, stop talking rubbish all the time.
Why does Ken always seem to know everything. To me he is part of the game but if it does not go his way then he decides to talk as if he is exposing people. I do understand the game he plays so people who are his friends must be careful with him. He cannot be trusted since he has the medium to talk he first go out there to talk but trust me that day will surely come.
NDC moles will always talk trash. We will get them one at a time.
Ken is not a prosecutor but can still play a role to make sure this man is jailed if he has the evidence. Was he and Amidu policemen when they uncovered Wayomi's stealing of our Ghc52m that led to the state making effort to recover the money? People like you are a disgrace to you family.
fii or whatever u call yourself , talk like an educated person , your comment doesn't make sense at all. any one who has defraud the national must face the law period
Very pathetic of some of us, when someone does evil to tge nation and later we intend to protect such people all in the name of them belonging to our party. Ken might not be a prosecutor but a good citizen to be precise. You sit at the comfort of your office, create and later loot the coffers of the state then u sit there and be like we should keep quiet aah bah. In my opinion if this man is guilty of anything we should channel it through the appropriate means for justice to take it course
If you saw him shredding documents as mentioned and you did nothing then you are the first to go to jail. Why would you make him shred all those documents and fuuulisshly go on air to say you will ensure he would be jailed. When at all would you make sense. This is the man assin chief want as central regional minister? Not even a dce.
