A former Chief of Staff Kojo Mpiani is appealing to the Akufo-Addo-led administration to include members of the leading minority party in the committee planning the Ghana at 60 celebrations.
In his view, the inclusion of the minority will mitigate the controversies that are likely to engulf the celebration.
President Akufo-Addo on Thursday inaugurated a 30-member committee to steer affairs of the celebration which falls on March 6. The committee is chaired by Ken Amankwah and assisted by deputy chief of Staff Abu Jinapor. It has representations from several organisations including the police and military.
Commenting on the matter, Mr. Mpiani said the role of the minority is crucial in giving the celebration a national character.
“They should ensure they involve Parliament so that at least the opposition knows what is going on. During Ghana@50 celebration they were invited but after a week of attending meetings those on the minority side stopped coming. But sadly, they were the same people making a lot of noise about the celebration. I’m sure if the current minority side is fully involved in deliberations during meetings of this Ghana@60 anniversary celebration, the hullabaloo that characterized the previous celebration will not happen,” he told Kasapa FM.

PLS THE NDC HAVE NO TIME FOR THAT GO AND DO UR OWN THING.
Mr Mpiani why are you so obsessed with celebrations? Ah!!!The leadership of a child!! Always calling for parties, toys, candy. When are we going to learn from Tanzania's President John Pombe Magufuli? I was hoping to see him at the inauguration as a sign of the needed change that should happen in Ghana.
pls ooo if i may ask? are we celebration politics @ 60 or Ghana @60? the people the president choose are they not Ghanaian?why should he involve NDC and not PPP or PNC?
@AMOASI--- PLEASE THE FLAG STAFF HOUSE SHOULD BE NAMED AKYEM HOUSE AND NOT JUBILEE HOUSE. TES GHANA INDEED BELONGS TO THE AKYEMS--WHAT A SILLY THING TO WRITE ABOUT THE FLAG STAFF HOUSE. IT WILL BE NICE IF YOU CHANGE OSAFO MARFO NAME TO KWAKU AMEDUNA TO REFLECT THE TRUE GHANA CULTURE AND TRADITION. WE ARE GHANAIANS
I suppose Mpiani is a member of the party. Where was he when the activity is being planned. He should give us a break. He should keep quite and wallow in his disgrace. If God is you or blesses you,who can be against you. All these people wished Nana's down fall but have failed miserably. We don't need your advice. Keep it to yourself. My humble word to all media houses is stop referring to the presidential sit as Flagsttaff house.IT IS JUBILEE HOUSE.PERIOD."Against bewu"
All of a sudden, people who were asking for inclusion of all have all gone silent. Because of a change in government, people who occupied positions and are also Ghanaians are being asked to hand over and leave their offices. For who take over? When these things were going on sometime back and there was noise all over the place for winners to allow others to feel part, now those who made the noise most have gone silent.
UNCLE I DISAGREE WITH YOU PLEASE
