A staunch member of the Progressive People’s Party, Mr. Charles Owusu has jumped to the defense of Mr. Boakye Ayarko following unsubstantiated reports that he tried bribing members of the appointments committee to approve his candidature.
He contends that he sees no reason a capable person would pay bribe to MPs when he knows that the vetting procedure used in the house, would allow him to appear before them for the second time even if he they refuse to pass him for the first time.
Secondly, Mr. Owusu explains that when it comes to numbers, NPP MPs exceed NDC MPs in the house which makes it easier for Mr. Agyarko to be passed without paying any form of bribe.
Bawku Central MP, Mahama Ayariga, incurred the wrath of his colleague MPs when he alleged that envelopes containing GH¢3,000 each were distributed to members of the Appointments Committee of the House to approve the nomination of Boakye Agyarko as Minister of Energy.
Although Parliament is yet to conclude investigation and publish findings on the bribery allegations involving Mr. Boakye Agyarko and some leaders of the House, Mr. Charles Owusu has predicted Mr. Boakye Ayarko would be exonerated and come out as clean as a whistle.
In an interview with Peacefmonline.com, the PPP scribe noted that a resourceful person like Mr. Agyarko demonstrated during his vetting session which aired on national television that he over qualifies to be Ghana's Energy Minister.
“Boakye Agyarko would never pay bribe or a dime to convince MPs to approve his candidature. He is a good orator and on top of that, he has brilliant ideas that are workable to end this devastating power interruption that the NDC has left behind”.
Last week, the Bawku Central MP rattled Parliament when he alleged that Mr. Boakye Ayarko’s bribery attempt was made through the chairman of the committee, Hon. Osei Owusu.
The news which started on Radio Gold last Friday spread like wildfire and Hon. Osei Owusu was quick to react to it by claiming Mahama Ayariga’s allegation were “colossal untruth.”
He pressed on by requesting the speaker of Parliament, Mike Oquaye to grant him immunity to go to court and clear his bruised integrity in the bribery allegation that hit the committee he chairs.
Aside him, the Minority Chief Whip, Muntaka Mohammed Mubarak, has also denied sharing envelopes containing money to his colleagues on the Appointments Committee to influence Mr. Boakye Ayarko’s passage.
Happenings linked to the saga, convinces Mr. Charles Owusu that Mahama Ayariga would soon be shamed in public for forging his own story.
“Ayariga would soon be crying. He would cry like a baby. Machinations against a gem like Agyarko would never stand. It is sad a man of repute like him has been targeted by Ayariga. I don’t believe it would destroy him; he would grow stronger and serve Ghana diligently”.

TAKE NOTE THAT WE WILL USE MEANS OF IT TO TRACE YOU AND ARREST AND DEAL WITH YOU. IF YOU ARE THAT BRAVE AND A MAN PLEASE CONTINUE YOUR INSULTS , DO NOT STOP.
YOU SEE,,,,, AS THE PRESIDENT IS AN EEEDIOT,,, ANYONE WHO WANTS TO JUMP TO THE DEFENSE OF HIS APPOINTEES MUST ALSO TOW THAT LINE OF EEEEDIOCY. BUT I WOULD RATHER BE SURPRISED IF THIS COMMENT COMES FROM SOMEONE OF A NOTCH MODICUM OF REVERENCE ATTACHED TO HIM NAME THAN THIS MEGALOMANIAC AND ALSO A NONENTITY. PHUUUL,,,,, YOU CALL A MINISTER DESIGNATE WHO DOESN'T KNOW THE GENERATION CAPACITY OF THE MINISTRY HE IS TO HEAD,,,, CAPABLE???? OR IS IT THAT THE WORD CAPABLE HAS LOST IT'S MEANING IN YOUR DICTIONARY??? BESIDE THAT,,,, TO LIE IN THE PRESENCE OF SUCH A COMMITTEE AMOUNTS TO PURGURY. AND AGYARKO HAS CONCEDED THAT HE LIED ABOUT THE FORMER PRESIDENT.... ALSO,,, THIS BRIBERY ISSUE IS AN ATTESTATION THAT HE AGYARKO HAS BEEN INVOLVED WITH AN INTERNATIONAL FRAUDULENT SCANDAL,,,IN WHICH HIS NAME WAS NEVER CLEARED... AND WITH SUCH EVIDENCE IN ANYBODY\S BACK POCKET,,,, HE WILL HIT PAY DIRT ANYTIME SUCH ISSUES ARE RAISED ABOUT HIM.... AND WILL BE SMILING ALL THE WAY TO THE BANK... BECAUSE IF THIS SCANDAL IS DUG FURTHER DEEPER,,,, HE CAN NOT ESCAPE IT..... AND HE AGYARKO KNOWS IT TOO WELL... AND YES,,,, THEY HAVE THE MAJORITY IN PARLIAMENT AND ON THE PANEL,,BUT..,, DOES IT SOUND RIGHT... ???? THOUGH CLEARLY HE FAILED THE VETTING WOEFULLY... WHAT ELSE WILL GIVE RISE TO AN ATTEMPT OF BRIBERY,,, WHICH I HAVE NO DOUBT THAT HE DID...
In the abundance of Fulani cattle the fooooool wants to use Brazilian loan to import fertilizer. We are fuuuulls!
The author of this sickening bribery subterfuge is never let off the hook; such an evil ploy could only come from where it has come from: the devil's evil grouping. They go! They go simply, removed for what they are.
You speak like a fuull. Do you think a committee being chaired by a nominee of the president who would be vetted by osei owusu, the same person being accused of bribery would have the guts to rule against him. You don't even know that the whole issue would die a natural death because the committee would not even give Ghanaians any report till thy kingdom come. If there would any report, all they would say is that ayariga misconstrued and co misinterpreted things and therefore there allegation was just unfortunate. As we speak both the minority and majority are fashioning out a way to kill this issues, since parliament would be the casualty no matter the result.
I recommend that Ayariga should not be paid for 6 months, but must be made to go to work, after the investigations. Barring him from Parliament will not be in the interest of his constituents.
