Director of Communications at the presidency, Eugene Arhin says over 200 official cars are nowhere to found at the seat of government, Flagstaff House.
The cars, which he said are part of the presidential pool of official vehicles, are missing from the Flagstaff House garage.
Subsequently, he said, President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo has been forced to use a 2007 model of a saloon car within Accra.
“President Akufo Addo is currently using a 2007 BMW model purchased by the state during the Ghana @50 celebrations...That is what he is using. So where are the cars?” he questioned.
Speaking on NEAT FM’s morning show dubbed Ghana Montie Eugene Arhin intimated that the president, when going on a long journey outside the capital, uses his own private vehicle for such official duties.
“Just this last week Saturday, the president had to use his private Land Cruiser for an official duty in Kyebi. That is the same Land Cruiser he used during the campaign time” he told host Kwesi Aboagye
He strongly held the belief that government’s decision to set up a committee to retrieve state assets suspected to be in the possession of some individuals in the previous administration will yield fruitful results.

Go tell this to the dogs...lies lies lies and propaganda. NPP lied their way to power and you think you can still use lies to avoid fulfilling your promises????? NO WAY!!!!!
He is lucky to have a bmw. Just shutt up and do some work. The allegations are becoming too much.
I have wasted my vote on nana Addo. I just don't know what he is doing right now. I thought he was going to fix things, but he has not made any attempt to improve the lives of Ghanaians, but is only throwing allegations here and there. This is not what we voted for. At least one month into office light bills should have been reduced since you thought it was higher than rent. With this kind of blame game, I don't think this government can do anything. Today this tomorrow that. When will the promises be redeemed? I can't think far.
PLEASE THAT IS WHY YOU ARE THERE. PLEASE STOP COMPLAINING AND MOVE TO ACTION.WHAT ARE YOU WAITING FOR. WHY THE TRANSITION TEAM DIDN'T THEY CHECK THE WHERE ABOUT OF THE CARS? PLEASE ACTS BECAUSE WE WILL NOT FORGIVE YOU IF YOU FAIL US.THANK YOU
This is nothing but a subtle way to justify need to buy new vehicles for the flagstaff house. I know some politicians are greedy but to say a whopping 200 cars are missing in flagstaff house is quite misleading, in fact, it cannot be possible. How many workers work at the flagstaff house for them to have over 200 vehicles in their garage. When you guys are lying through your teeth, please grant Ghanaians with a least some reasonable amount of intelligence. This is an attempt to blame the past government for their imminent failure. Did I read the president purchased a state bmw in 2007? And here he is trying to paint people black. I thought he never bought anything from the state before. Did president mahama send his land cruiser home. Nana Addo and his team are jokers.
They have deficits for whatever reason
These diversionary tactics wont work. In the first place where on earth did you get the figure 200? Liaise with the person who signed the handing over notes which indicated that there are 200 cars. Then the tracing or investigation will start from there. This sort of campaign news items will not hold water. You claim you're in charge so deliver. Till now, the price of fuel is still up there, hospitals are charging fees, cost of living is escalating. All of a sudden you cliche that "Ghanaians are suffering" is not being heard at all.
Eugene Arhin please understand that cars are not something one can keep in the pocket for the purposes of concealment. Your government has been give the people's mandate. Go out there and decently retrieve every single car if indeed is in the possession of some people. Not only that, name and shame those culpable and arraign them before the courts. Stop complaining that this and that is missing when you have the vested powers of the people. Thank You! Next time I would like to see action and not listen to these complaints!
This is a ploy to buy new cars. we know it. Only the NPP members will believe this story. The contract to buy new cars have already been signed so they are testing the waters and doing propaganda that the previous government stole 200 cars.
This is what Transition is meant to do; Ask all the hard questions! The NPP didn't do this transition well if this story is true. First some intel should tell you where we are - cars, chattels, houses, paperwork, contracts, dubious deals etc. You get a catalog of these and then you start checking. You see, in the absence of some checklist, you are staring in the dark. If you went through the front door, no one in the previous government would tell you! You should have some of this already. Again, the NPP should have removed all Government appointees immediately. Just before swearing-in, the CoS should have had something signed and done up for the President, some kinda Presidential order. Once he was sworn in, he signs it, it's announced, everyone of these political appointees will have to down tools. Old government functionaries are still in place and all the NDC leadership have to do is to get them to obliterate records that would incriminate them. Well....
