The Minister for Gender, Children and Social Protection Otiko Afisa Djaba may have enjoyed the numbers from the majority New Patriotic Party (NPP) in Parliament to get the nod as a minister, but the minority National Democratic Congress (NDC) said they will not recognize her.
According to the Member of Parliament for Odododiodio who is also as a member of the Vetting Committee, the general composure of Otiko Djaba does not qualify her to be a minister hence the decision by the Minority to abstain from her approval.
Minority NDC on Tuesday was emphatic that they would not be part of what they called illegality.
Minority led by its leader Haruna Iddrisu said the approval of the appointee who failed to enroll in the National Service Scheme (NSS) would amount to an illegality, arguing that Article 94 (2) of the 1992 Constitution is clear on the eligibility of anyone aspiring to be a minister.
Another concern of the minority was refusal of the now Gender Minister to withdraw a statement she made against ex-President John Dramani Mahama. Asked if she still stood by her description of ex-President Mahama as “wicked, evil and someone with a heart of the devil,” Afisa Djaba said she spoke out of conviction and would not apologize or withdraw her comments.
Responding to a questionon Onua FM as to why minority abstained from approval of the Gender Minister, Edwin Nii Lantey Vanderpuye said “We don’t believe she has the candour to hold herself as a minister, her demeanor does not qualify her to be a minister, how do we entrust the life of the children and the aged in her care?”
He maintained that since the majority used its numbers to pass the Gender Minister, the minority will not have anything to do with her.
“The majority is already disappointing Ghanaians with the way they try to bulldozer their way. She was not the only one who appeared before us and has an issue. Others have apologized so why can’t she” Odododiodio MP lamented.
“She will not receive minority support, as far as we are concern she is not a minister, she should do her work, it does not concern us.”

Ndc is irrelevant so who cares about you? Majority of Ghanaians are happy with the answers the minister of gender gave you hat*ful and bitter losers. That is the woman we need, that is the leader we can believe in, a woman who can take bold and brave decisions,a woman who can believe in her own convictions that's what we need. Hon. Otiko Djaba hit the nail right in the head of inferiority complex filled unc*uth and uncultured people who didn't deserve to be in Parliament but for the ign*rance of some of their constituents are in parliament. These guys who have no self esteem but want others to respect them by the mere being in Parliament are jokers and no wonder comes from the ndc. Otiko like me will never respect these nonentities who have packed themselves in the Parliament house and thinking they are tough by showing their naivety and st*pidity. Just look at them :Suhuyini,Haruna Iddrisu,Ayariga,Ablakwah,Akando,Eric Opoku hahahahahaha ! Who among these command respect? Hahahahaha! Ghana was indeed in the hands of dogs. None of them even qualify to be an assembly man in Kenya but look at cheap Ghana these things were ministers of state and are representives of some people. How wouldn't Ghana collapse in the hands of armed robbers turned politicians. Apuuuuuuuuuuuuu tooooooooooo! You can go drink the Korle Lagoon who cares? Sha is the minister with overwhelming votes. Ndc is irrelevant with cro*ks in charge, hahahahahahaha ! I thank God we have sensible and respectable young guys among the members of Parliament in both sides. Those id*ots among them can go about with their bufoonery who cares? Do i care about those ndc bulldogs coming here to insult? Hell No! They can please themselves with their bullsh*t who cares?
Karma is a Lante!! Have you apologized to the President and many more with the same stature for describing them as unfit for the presidency? Lets see change in the minority first.
