National Communications Officer of the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC), Sammy Gyamfi, is baffled at the conduct of widow of late Member of Parliament for Ayawaso West Wougon, Emmanuel Kyerematen Agyarko.
He claimed the widow, Madam Lydia Alhassan, was acting like a slay queen and flouting her children in public even when her late husband was at the morgue.
The NPP elected Lydia Alhassan to run for the seat at the party’s parliamentary primary after the demise of her husband. She got a massive endorsement from constituents who claimed she was the backbone of the late Agyarko.
But Sammy Gyamfi on Asempa FM Wednesday said the conduct of the widow was an affront to Ghanaian culture.
He explained that a typical Ghanaian widow is not supposed to be seen in public but Madam Lydia Alhassan was behaving like a “slay widow blowing kisses in town”.
“I’m not a family member of Kyerematen Agyarko but I’m worried about how his supposed widow is seen around town campaigning for votes when he had not been buried,” he opined.
Sammy Gyamfi said all the gimmicks of the widow were for sympathy votes which will not work since Ayawaso West Wougon residents had resolved to vote for NDC candidate, Delali Kwasi Brempong.

Sammy Gyamfi is damaging his political future. If a toddler like Sammy Gyamfi will talk like this and none of NDC BIG PEOPLE are not advising him them I wonder. You are a very nice boy but your insults are just too bad. CHANGE.

If such insults can win elections, the NDC wouldn't be in this "comfortable lead" by now. All their current executives are experts in insults and "vicious attacks" on their opponents. No wander they never win elections in elite areas.

How many promises were made to Ghanaians and what percentage of that is the 41 fulfilled promises. That would have been a more measured and truthful information. I have seen street lights, roads, water systems all of a sudden working again within my constituency (Ayawaso). So what exactly am i being told if it must take the death my MP (may his gentle and kind soul rest in peace);and the quest for political power of his baby mama for the tax payer to see proceeds of his/her taxes. Hhhhmmmmm. Ayawaso voters, we will be the best judges if this is what we deserve. I rest my pen and thank you for lending me your eyes, ears and time to see, hear and read my humble thoughts. Thanks again.
