The flag bearer of the main opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC), Mr John Mahama, on Tuesday, 16 July 2019, began a two-day working visit to the Western North Region.
During the tour, Mr Mahama thanked the delegates and supporters of the party for their support and resounding endorsement in February’s flag bearer race. He interacted with the communities in the area and paid a courtesy calls on the chiefs and elders of the area.
He met and interacted with cocoa and other crop farmers, traders, and community members.
According to Mr Mahama’s aide, Joyce Bawa Mogtari, many road projects started by the Mahama government or awarded on contract have been stopped and abandoned by the Akufo-Addo government.
“Many communities in the Western North Region are currently faced with deplorable road conditions that are affecting not only the evacuation of cocoa and other farm produce, but also access to health and other emergency services,” she said in a statement.
From the Western North Region, Mr Mahama will proceed to the Ahafo North Region after a day’s break to attend the 7th John Evans Atta Mills Commemorative Lecture.
