Bernard Anim Piesie, a member of the Communication team of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) has criticized President Akufo-Addo's determination to continue 'pumping' money into the construction of the controversial National Cathedral project despite the hardship being faced by Ghanaians.
Speaking on Neat FM's Me Man Nti programme, he asked the President to "go back to God and ask for forgiveness" and revise his promise.

You (Anim Piesie) have to go to Church and pray for forgiveness for being against and speaking irresponsibly about the building of the National Cathedral. As for the party NDC, what Ghanaians should know is that they will always oppose anything and everything the NPP brings on board. Be it the buying of Presidential planes, building of the Jubilee House, National Health Insurance, National Identification Card, Free SHS, E-levy, and what have you? Is this the kind of political party with coup background that we want to come and rule, just to create, loot and share. That's their policy. And building infrastructures at outrageous and exorbitant costs, as well as paying of judgement debts which is the specialty of Ablakwa as revealed by Martin Amidu.
