With the presidential aspirants of the New Patriotic Party gearing up for the party's upcoming primary to elect their flagbearer, there are rumors of financial inducements of the delegates by some of the candidates.
Rumors have it that the Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, who is gunning for the flagbearer position, is distributing GHc 5000 to each delegate to buy their votes.
These speculations cropped up in discussions on Peace FM's Tuesday edition of the morning show 'Kokrokoo', but Nana Akomea, a panelist on the show, says the rumors are untrue.
The STC boss, Nana Akomea, who is a member of the Bawumia campaign team, told host Kwami Sefa Kayi that it is no secret that Dr. Bawumia gives money to the delegates when he engages with them, however, the amount is not 5000 cedis.
"The money he is giving to the delegates is in the open. It's a public announcement. In fact, it is the Regional Chairman that even announces it; he (Bawumia) gives them 200 cedis for transport," he intimated.
To him, there is nothing wrong with Dr. Bawumia giving transport fare to the delegates who come from far and near to listen to his campaign message.

This is sickening! You collect GHS200 to sell your conscience? Even for ghs5000 it is still an insult! That is why we need a total clear-out of the current system: corrupt delegates sell their conscience to elect a flagbearer who is unfit, this flagbearer is voted for along partisan and ethnic lines and when he comes to power he steals to recoup the amount he used to pay for the conscience of the corrupt delegates who elected him! With this system in place we should forget about development!
Granted that it's GHS 200 that he's giving in the open to each of the over 200k delegates across the nation, it means that he's spending over GHS 40, 000,000 on every cycle of visits he makes on delegates T&T alone. The amount he's giving to buy their "conscience" will definitely not be named. You didn't also disclose the amount he gave to the super delegates for obvious reasons. Can you let us know if Bawumia had disclosed his wealth to be in the excess of GHS 100,000,000 at least at the time he assumed office as vice president? As "transparent" as you are portraying to be, do well to disclose the amount of money you have raised for his campaign purposes. You people think we will always be ***barred word***? Or you artificially created the exchange rate hike to accumulate more of the booty for Bawumia's campaign? Julors!
