Editor-in-Chief of the Insight newspaper, Kwesi Pratt seems to be missing the absence of Ashanti Regional Chairman of the governing New Patriotic Party (NPP), Bernard Antwi Boasiako alias Chairman Wontumi, on the political scene as the latter hasn't been heard lately in the lead-up to the NPP's parliamentary primaries.
Also popularly called "Governor 1" by some NPP supporters, Chairman Wontumi has been summoned by the Manhyia Palace for allegedly making some defamatory comments against the Chiefs in Ashanti Region.
Following the summons, an official report communicated by the General Secretary of the party, Justin Frimpong Kodua, before the Chiefs in Manhyia Palace when he, together with some leaders visited the Chiefs on behalf of their Regional Chairman, indicated that Mr. Wontumi was unwell and has been admitted in the hospital.
The Chiefs took this report with a pinch of salt and still demanded the presence of Chairman Wontumi, but a picture has since gone viral after surfacing on the internet showing him on the sick bed and receiving what looked like drips to prove he is indeed sick.
Discussing the NPP parliamentary primaries which comes off this Saturday, January 27, Mr. Pratt asked "where is their Chairman?", adding "my own friend, Wontumi, is missing".
He also, like the Chiefs, questioned the authenticity of the news that Chairman Wontumi is sick, hence trying to find out which disease could the Chairman be suffering from.
"Is it Typhoid or what?", he mockingly asked and added "if you are indeed sick, we are praying for you".
Kwesi Pratt gave these comments during "Kokrokoo" morning show on Peace FM.

Double agent Kwesi Pratt what happened to you when you had your run in with Manhyia? Coward!
Not typhoid oooo. Wontumi is suffering from a desease called " manhyiaphobia ". If a mouse takes alcohol, it still knows it doesn't have to cross paths with the cat . Fact is that Wontumi seems to be power drunk and has unfortunately forgotten his boundaries. Maybe this Manhyia debacle will humble him. One can't just understand why the NPP leadership is forcing the party to go to opposition by their actions and inactions. From the president to his appointees to party executives, every one of them is pushing the party into opposition. The annoying thing will be that , having sent the party into opposition, they will set up a committee to look into why the party lost the elections, when they are/ were the very reasons why the party lost miserably. I pity Bawumia at this stage. His boss is and his cousin are his number 1 obstacle . Why will any politician in his or her right thinking cap direct that 15% VAT be charged on domestic consumers of electricity 10 months to a crucial elections at a time the very people who are going to vote are bitter about the way government is handling the economy? Why will any NPP person in his or her right thinking cap show disrespect to the revered chiefs in the party's stronghold of Ashanti. Having failed to provide the region with development never seen before to show appreciation for their unflinching loyalty to the NPP , your regional chairman now adds insults to injury. What will the people of Ashanti be thinking for the Asantehene to personally launch an appeal for funds to renovate the Komfo Anokye teaching hospital at a time their preferred choice of party is in power? Is this not an indictment of the NPP? Am for NPP but truth be told. May the party never get the calibre of leaders both in government and party at the helm of affairs today . Listen to what a party guru like Nana Akomeah (STC) had to say " The NPP is now not popular " . Question then is what did former president Kufuor to make the NPP attractive and vibrant such that after 8 years in office the NPP presidential candidate led with 49%+ in the first round of the 2008 elections, an indication that the NPP was still the preferred/ popular choice of Ghanaians after 8 years in office. Nana Akomeah, tell us, what has changed? Tell us
