Seasoned Journalist, Kwesi Pratt Jnr. has slammed the Electoral Commission over the use of Ghana Card as the identity card for voting in the December 7 elections.
The Electoral Commission proposed for the Ghana Card to be the only identity card to be used in elections.
They found the Ghana Card credible to avoid election irregularities and also to rightly and legally identify the voters.
But the Commission's proposal was opposed by some parties and individuals, compelling the electoral management body to reconsider their decision.
Speaking on Peace FM's "Kokrokoo" panel discussion programme, Pratt kicked against making the Ghana Card the only identification means for one to exercise his or her franchise.
"If I don't have a Ghana Card, should I lose my right to vote? Tell me under what circumstances that if I don't have a Ghana Card, I lose my citizenship and my right to determine who should govern me. Why? That I don't have a Ghana Card, so I cannot vote; where from this? What is the justification for that position?"
