After the overwhelming success of his movie, Double, Kwaku Sintim-Misa (KSM) returns to the stage in what promises to be his definitive stage performance; Kwame Nkrumah.
KSM gets into character as the first President of Ghana on March 6, 2010, Ghanas 53rd independence anniversary. This high-profile show will take place at the Accra International Conference Centre. The fascinating thing about the play is that KSM uses his imagination to mould Nkrumah persona. I have capitalized on the power of creative licence, to depict a side of Kwame Nkrumah that we have never seen before; a dynamic leader with a downright electrifying sense of humour.
KSMs strength is his ability to analyze complex and complicated socio-political issues and break them down into simplified comedic anecdotes to tell a story and that is what he achieves in this work.
The show is set in Nkrumahs living room in Conakry from where he reminisces about his life from his early childhood days, to his days in exile.
He is portrayed as a man with an infectious wit who presents a hilarious interpretation of the events as they occurred in his life.
KSM believes that this performance is going to be the high point of his work on stage. it is a challenge to play the role of Kwame Nkrumah, but above all, a privilege to use the stage to celebrate a great African and true Ghanaian.
