About a year ago, in April 2012, MTN launched its maiden music reality show – The MTN Hit Maker. The concept is fashioned out of the desire to assist up and coming music demo holders who throng in and out of music studios in search of producers.
The show seeks to assist young and budding music talents economically to produce and own their own music, whilst nurturing them into stardom.
To be part of the show, prospective artistes will be required to drop their demos at MTN offices across the country, and other designated points.
This year, the show will adopt a two pronged approach, 10 finalists will each represent a region and another ten will be selected from the demo selection method. Twenty will be shortlisted out of which ten will enter the Hit Maker house to determine the winner of the covetous GHC 100,000.00 and GHC 50,000.00 Music Recording deals.
Last year saw winners Naterial (known in private life as Shadrack Adjetey) emerging victorious with Miriam Afari as the runner-up, taking home GH₡100, 000.00 and GH₡50, 000.00 recording deals respectively.
Season 2 of the MTN Hit Maker show was unveiled to the public on Thursday May 9, 2013 and was characterized by dexterity and sheer passion for excellence.
