The Managing Editor of the Insight Newspaper has commended Gospel artiste, Joe Mettle for accepting that Patience Nyarko's song is more popular than his.
‘Bo Noo Ni' by Joe Mettle, was adjudged the 'Gospel Song of the Year' at the just ended Vodafone Ghana Music Awards (VGMA).
However, some Ghanaians disagreed as they felt Patience Nyarko's 'Obinyanimi' was more popular.
The VGMA 2017 Artiste of the year conceded the songstress’ track which competed with his for the gospel song of the year was ahead of his song that won the award.
According to him, “both songs were popular am not going to lie about that but I feel her song was a little bit popular than mine. I mean just like the other categories every song in there deserved to be there...I feel my fans really voted for me because when I was nominated I put it out there and the massive support from my listeners and followers made me win the award”
Contributing to a panel discussion on Peace FM morning show, ‘Kokrokoo’, Friday, Kwesi Pratt extolled the humility of Joe Mettle, saying he is one of a kind.
“He has shown his humility with what he’s done and it will be good for Ghanaians to emulate him. The humility is incredible…I have never met him but I admire what he said and I think he is a very cool guy. I have high respect for him” he noted.
