Outspoken actress Lydia Forson is not happy with Vice President Dr Mahamudu Bawumia.
The actress says she is very repulsed by the Vice President’s decision to compare the current coronavirus pandemic to the power crisis that befell the country during former President John Mahama’s administration.
Lydia Forson made the comments in the wake of a press conference organised by Dr. Bawumia to respond to former President Mahama’s criticisms of the way President Nana Akufo-Addo has managed the economy.
During the Vice President’s press conference Monday, he compared how former President Mahama managed the power crisis, popularly called Dumsor, that crippled the country in 2015.
Sharing a video of Dr. Bawumia’s press conference, the Ministry of Information said “Two major crises have befallen our country in the last decade – Dumsor and Covid-19. The management of the economy under two different leaders during these crises periods is something we should all be interested in.”
Reacting to the post, Lydia Forson chastised the government for comparing the two crises.
“I can’t believe we’re comparing DUMSOR to COVID-19, a pandemic that threatens our very human existence. I’m utterly disgusted and extremely disappointed by this comparison,” she said.
Bringing the Information Minister, Kojo Oppong Nkrumah, into the fray, the actress added: “@konkrumah I know if you were still on air you would have grilled anyone who made this statement . smh.”

This exactly what happens when block-heads want to be opinion leaders. The point the vice president is making is: his government is handling a major crises, but the ex-president keeps complaining despite all their efforts, however this is an ex-president who couldn't manage a local simple energy crises....How is this comparison not proper? how is this not a fair comparison. Please, open up your mind
look at this attention seeker
I have always admired Dr Bawumia for his digital agenda which to an extent could help in the fight against corruption and waste but I was horrified to read he compared Covid-19 to Dumsor! No one can descend lower than he has with that comparison! Does it indicate he does not truly understand what we are even dealing with in the shape of covid-19? I am sure president Nana Addo will squirm under his seat after reading that from his 2IC! The only time the world witnessed something like this was during the bubonic plague and the spanish flu and one can argue that Covid-19 outsizes the two because medicine currently is so advanced yet we have no answer to the might of Covid-19! That is why this fight should be led by experts and not politicians. If there any comparison to make it is the fact that dumsor "pandemic" was led by politicians and Covid-19 is also being led by politicians and politicians lead failure becomes inevitable. The measure of success is often that "you failed more than us" and therefore we are better!
@sam you are wrong, the lady addressed the issue on the table, if you have nothing to say just chill don't attack her in that manner, wait till you see her expose her body then you have a case. Ahhh mogyae sa
You think is the exposure of you body which you know and understand.
