He was tipped by many to win this year’s Vodafone Ghana Music Awards Artiste of the Year and after winning it, Black Sherif says it is a dream come true for him.
Black Sherif attributes his success to his perseverance and diligence since breaking into the Ghanaian music scene, and he is certain that his success will continue as long as he puts in the same amount of vigour.
Blacko who was the youngest nominee among heavyweight contenders, prevailed over stiff opposition from the likes of Piesie Esther, Stonebwoy, Sarkodie, King Promise, Camidoh, KiDi and Joe Mettle to win the grand prize- VGMA Artiste of the Year.
Black Sherif on hard work
According to the Kwaku The Traveller hitmaker winning Artiste of the Year is hard work and determination.
“I worked hard to get to where I am now. It is a dream come through to actually see your hard work pay off. I put in hard work to make sure I achieve whatever I want and today here I am winning the ultimate award on the night”.
“I will not stop putting in the hard work because we are just starting. I always want to bring something new to keep my fans and Ghanaians asking for more. Big respect to everyone who voted for Blacko. You did not waste your votes because Blacko made you proud,” he told Graphic Showbiz in an exclusive post-VGMA interview.
