The 2016 edition of the Radio and Television (RTP)Award came off last Saturday October 22, at the Accra International Conference Centre.
The RTP Award which is in its sixth year stated over an hour late and they repeated their usual avoidable technical hitches like playing the wrong nominees video for a wrong category, showing wrong pictures of nominees on the screen, announcing the wrong winner among other things which affects the beauty and flow of the show.
Some technical aspects of the RTP Awards like stage set up, lighting, sound among things are improving but the organization, production, direction and coordination is still not up to standard.
The night hosted by comedian DKB witnessed performances from Shatta Wale, Kwadee, SP Kofi Sarpong, Eshun and Selecta.
Sports Presenter, Patrick Osei-Agyeman aka Country-Man Songo, host of Fire-for-Fire on Asempa FM and Adom TV took home the biggest award of the night and was crowned the Radio and Television Personality for 2016 and Despite Group won a total of 10 awards on the night among other winners from other media houses.
Some of the personalities present included: Former First Lady Nana Konadu Agyeman Rawlings, Akumaa Mama Zimbi, Lawyer and TV Host Sandra Ankobiah, actress Zicky Zugah, Oheneyiri Gifty Anti and her husband Nana Ansah Kwao, Shatta Wale's wife Shatta Michy, Rapper Trigmatic, traditional leaders among others.
