Ghana beat Germany 1-0 to finish third at FIFA U-17 Womens World Cup Azerbaijan 2012 despite finishing the game numerically disadvantaged.
A first half strike by captain Priscilla Okyere in the 38th minute handed the Black Maidens bronze on Saturday in Baku giving Ghana their best-ever finish at a FIFA womens competition.
Before the winner, the Black Maidens, for the second consecutive time at the tournament saw red when after the half-hour, Fatima Alhassan picked up her second yellow card within four minutes.
Despite Ghana, having a player sent off, they held on for a greater part of the game to deny their opponents any sight of goal.
The meeting was the second between both sides after the Germans edged Ghana 2-1 in their opening Group D fixture.
