Asante Kotoko defender Rashid Sumaila has been dropped from Ghana's final 23-man squad for the 2013 Nations Cup, Ghana Sports can exclusively confirm.
The 19-year-old was among six central defenders who were picked by coach James Kwesi Appiah in his preliminary 26-man squad which has been reduced to 24 after Yahaya Mohammed and Andre Ayew's exclusion.
South Africa-based defender, Awal Mohammed was another defender who was on the balance but considering his experience in the South African Premier Soccer League.
Ghana will play Tunisia and Egypt in warm-up games before leaving for South Africa next week.
