Embattled President of the Ghana Football Association, Kwesi Nyantakyi who just resigned from his position has rendered an unqualified apology to President Nana Addo Dankwah Akufo Addo for comments he made in Anas’ latest expose, #Number 12.
In the apology which was contained in his resignation letter, Mr Nyantakyi also asked for forgiveness from Vice President Mahamudu Bawumia, Ministers and Deputy Ministers of State for his indiscretion in associating them with the private conversations in the Anas video.
“I hereby apologise unreservedly to the father of the Nation, H.E. Nana Akufo Addo, H.E. the Vice President, Dr. Mahamadu Bawumia, Hon. Ministers and Deputy Ministers of State for indiscretion in associating them with the private conversations on the video.
I wish to clarify that at no time prior to or subsequent to any deliberations on the video did I consult, contact or inform any Government official about discussions on the video. I take sole and personal responsibility for the proceedings on the video.”
I wish to apologise to my family, work colleagues, friends, associates and the people of Ghana for the disappointment my indiscretion has caused them. This is by no means an admission of wrong doing for issues on the video” he said.
Kwesi Nyantakyi’s apology comes a day after the government announced steps to dissolves the Ghana Football Association and hours after FIFA banned him for 90 days to commence investigations.
The GFA president was captured in an undercover investigation conducted by the TigerEye PI in which he made damning commentaries about the president of the country and his vice as well as other ministers of state.
Mr. Nyantakyi in the video was captured receiving an amount of $65,000 from a supposed business man who in reality was an undercover journalist.

Smh.
I agree with u Attah Mensah
But who forced him to apologize for no wrong doings? Nyantakyi can indeed demonstrate ARROGANCE & PRIDE to the ***barred word*** point! Apology with no sense of REGRETS, is just an insult to the Nation!!
Right on point there. But let me add to your accurate diagnosis of Ghana's problem by saying we the electorate have all the power to correct these ills visited on us by the NDC/NPP in the past twenty something years. Ghana can only significantly reduce corruption by voting out NPP/NDC . Changing between these two doesn't help. They only try to prove how the previous one stole more than they are currently doing. To truly clean Ghana we need these two parties out of power for twenty years and Ghana will be a very prosperous country for every body. I can bet my life on it.
I don't know if Nyantekyi has anyone advising him, this is not the way to go at all! If his apology is not an admission of any wrong doing, as he says, then why bother apologise? You use the President and Vice President's name to dupe yet he doesn't see that as a wrong doing? Is he insulting the intelligence of the President and Vice and the whole of Ghana? And he says he will address the media on what in the video in the days to come? He should not add salt to injury. He already has cotton wool on his arsee, he shouldn't try to jump over the fire.
corruption in ghana and africa as a whole deeply troubling. lives are being lost in the Mediterranean because young africans have a hard time making ends meet. you have these so called leaders and politicians who will do anything to sell their country for money with impunity. everyone in ghana wants to live a bogger european lifestyle.they want to be like the Americans. these guys want to reap where they have not sown.FA president and other caught red handed is an indication of the level of greed, corruption, ineptitude, lack of love for country and fellow man. this FA President is ***barred word***. l bet he is not the only one involve in this scandal. why is the current government campaigning against graft but will not support or fund Anas to uncover more rot. tell you what the NPP and NDC have destroyed ghana. they have signed bad loans and bad contracts and pocketed their usual10%. they have sold ghana to the europeans and the americans at the expense of the ordinary ghanaians. ghanaians must rise up and hold these people accountable. this is not the time for pastors praying for forgiveness. this is real deal and people must go to jai. the so called special prosecutor must act. failure to act smells fishy mr amidu. people in ghana have become nation wreckers. some pastors and clergy men have also benefited from these graft and bribery. they must all come out to confess before they are exposed. a nation of treasonous people in positions of authority. this FA President must name all his cronies and accomplices involved in this scandal. suley muntari and kevin prince boateng must be invited to testify unhinged. something is seriously wrong here. where there is smoke, there is fire. the fire is already burning.
It's about time his company business is thoroughly investigated and all his assests frozen until further notice. What happened to the money: $65,000 he was seen packing in the black bag? What a hypocrite and greedy man !!! You apologize to all those mentioned in a resignation letter ? Is that the right way ? What nefarious roles did he play in the appointment of coaches for the Black Stars over the years ?
Why does he always look as if someone is after him? Life...you had such a glittering career rising all the way up to FIFA. Now look at your end? The love for money is indeed the root of all evil smh
pride is killing you and you do not realize it. You apologze and you still hold on to what you said in the video. Pride go kill you. shake it off masa Kwasi 'mugabde' Nyantayi.
this is not an apology, Nyantakyi. what greed and lack of conscious can do to a man
