The Secretary General of the TUC, Kofi Asamoah, has added his voice to workers of Tema Shipyard and Dry dock for government not to hand over the facility to foreign companies.
He told Radio Ghana that Tema Shipyard and Dry dock is a strategic facility and now that Ghana has found oil, it is prudent that government should do all it can to ensure that Ghanaians manage the facility to the maximum benefit of the state.
Meanwhile, the Trades Union Congress, TUC, has urged the Public Utility Regulatory Commission and government to continue its subsidy of utility tariffs.
According to the TUC, any other attempt by the PURC to further over-burden consumers with increased tariffs could have what it describes as undesirable social implication.
These are contained in a statement issued by the TUC and signed by its secretary General, Kofi Asamoah.
