Dr. Paa Kwesi Nduom is a smart businessman, but not an astute politician, only someone who is foolhardy, will pretend not to know the outcome of the December 7, presidential election.
It is a two horse raise between the New Patriotic Party (NPP) and the National Democratic Congress (NDC), the others are just adding up to the numbers.
Since 1992, when we ushered in the new dispensation, at the turn of every election, the votes of the smaller parties, especially the Peoples National Convention (PNC) and the Convention Peoples Party (CPP), have dwindled, this is despite the fact that, they have always put up, good candidates, except in 2012 for the PNC.
Dr. Nduom in 2008, when he represented the CPP, arguably had one of the biggest crowds at a rally at Obra Spot in Accra, the beauty of that rally is that, everybody was asked to show their party cards, which they obliged, but after the votes were cast and counted on December 7, he recorded one of the worse performance in the history of the CPP.
In 2012, after he left the CPP to form the Progressive Peoples Party (PPP), he had a little over 64,000 votes, President John Dramani Mahama, who was the eventually winner, had over 5 million votes.
Which miracle in the history human of existence, can Dr. Nduom perform to beat President Mahama?
Although, I disagree with the High Court ruling, which has ordered the Electoral Commission to allow Dr. Nduom to amend or alter his forms, so he could be on the ballot paper for the December 7, polls, I think the decision and his subsequent inclusion in the election, will put finality to Dr. Nduom’s self aggrandizement.
I do not need to be a pollster to tell that, Dr. Nduom’s self glorification is only relevance for as long as the Electoral Commission remains adamant in it resolve to keep him out of the final list of presidential candidates.
I will be saddened should not be on the ballot paper, we have reach a point in our democratic journey, where the noise makers, who have a track record of abysmal electoral performance, are made to understand that, politics is an entirely different kettle of fish.
Businessmen, inventors, have written their names in history books and are celebrated worldwide more than politicians; you need not be a politician or occupy an elected office to make a difference in the life of your people and country.
Dr. Nduom, has done well for himself as a businessman, he will be remembered and his legacy, will live long after he is dead and gone.
He has decided to venture into a terrain that is at variance with his calling, you can’t be a jack of all trade, the best he got as far as the gods of politics, could smile on him is being, an assemblyman, a Member of Parliament (MP) and a Minister of State, thanks to former president, John Agyekum Kufuor.
He should be grateful to his maker and the good people in his Constituency for the honour done him to represent them.
As an observer from the side lines, I think that Dr. Nduom’s career as a politician has been under threat the very moment; he puts himself up for the presidency.
I am certain that from where he is now, having found himself in a tight corner, he is reeling in embarrassment at such attempt to get him out.
Dr. Nduom, has overstayed his welcome, good politicians, which he is not, know when to call it quit, the game has been played right under nose over and over again, you know the outcome, so why the fuss?
I may not know what his end game is, because having excelled in business, the risk involved in the business of politics is too high, especially so, when you know you are not going to win.
Dr. Nduom, should stop feeding us the bogey that, he has created jobs and so is the best man qualified for that onerous job of leading the country, a businessman is driven by one motive only and that is profit.
Running a country, cannot be equated to running a business, I have said it time without number that, not every successful footballer, becomes a successful coach, the terrain of being led and leading are entirely different. In politics, the stakes are high, as a president, you are dealing with millions of people, whose lives depend on every single decision you make, you do not have time for second thoughts or correction, as in business.
What is done, cannot easily be undone, this and many reasons are why, I do not think Dr. Nduom, has the pedigree for the office he is seeking for.
The results of the 2016 presidential election, will be the same, the status quo, will not be disturbed, President John Dramani Mahama, will emerge victorious with fifty percent plus votes, Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, will make about forty-five percent, Dr. Papa Kwesi Nduom and the rest, will struggle to even get one percent of the valid votes cast
So he can make all the noise, he wants, he can beat the war drums as loud as he wants them to sound, Ghanaians are already resolved to give President Mahama, another four years to continue his changing lives and transforming Ghana agenda.
I am by no means belittling the position of the Dr. Papa Kwesi Nduom in the affairs of this nation, he has paid his dues and he is an integral part of the polity and an important one at that.
What I am against is an attempt by anyone, least of all, Dr. Nduom, to put himself in a position to decide what uplifts or downgrades Ghanaians, when he I a beneficiary of whatever corrupt practices exist . It is an act of irresponsible arrogance that any average Ghanaian should stand up against.

That is the fact as stated by the writer. You may disagree with him but don't insult him.Dec 7 will confirm everything.
WHY is the writer of this piece rather disturbed by Kwesi Ndoum -KWARAAAAA !!!!!!!!; afterall the man through his own initiatives managed to do something with his life by building private businesses to employ people ; then there is Jon Mahama a man who uses state funds monies to build schools ; hospitals and roads and claim he has done something-BIG DEAL !!!!!!! What the full forgets is that afterall anybody can do what he claims to have done if given state resources to look after ; Jon Mahama prefers to lut state monies ; inflate contracts ; award contracts to his families ; uses his brother to collect his kick backs ; WHO CANNOT DO THIS IN GHANA EVEN A 17 year old teeanger can do this ;if given the opportunity; the fact is that Kwesi Ndoum could create jobs from his connections and contacts in the US ; Nana Addo has credible contacts in the UK and can master resources to help Ghana ; who does JOn Mahama know in the US or in UK ; all Jon Mahama knows is borrowing and borrowing; DOES SUCH BORROWING HELP GHANA -NO ; CHOP TODAY FORGET ABOUT TOMORROW !!!!!!!JON MAHAMA FAMILY ENTERPRISE INTERNATIONAL LTD FOR YOU !!!!!!!
Sounds to me like Nduom is a threat to the party of the writer. Those of us who wants to vote based on policies and candidate credibility will vote for him and see how things go. Electorates are becoming wiser and non-partisan. People are beginning to see that voting for Nduom might actually make a difference instead of just saying he is the best candidate. If you believe it's a waste of vote, then some of us would rather waste our vote on the best candidate in any given election.
whoever wrote this piece is very uninformed and parochial in his/her views. Paa Kwesi Is the best Person Ghana needs. Ghanains can make him president if they decide for vote for him.
PAA KWESI DID NOT KNOW THAT TO BE A POLITICIAN YOU NEED TO UNDERSTAND METICULOUS NATURE OF ELECTORAL FORM AND SUBSCRIBERS BUT HE THREW IT TO HIS UNCOMPROMISING AIDES WHO FAILED WOEFULLY AND HE SENT A CONSTITUTIONAL INSTRUMENT PROBLEM TO HIGH COURT INSTEAD SUPREME COURT AND THOUGH HE HAD WON AND STARTED THANK YOU TOUR WHICH HAS BACK FIRED AND SUPREME WOULD SETTLE THE MATTER AND HE MUST AND STUDY METICULOUS FROM THE UNIVERSITY OF ELECTIONS TO BE TAUGHT BY MRS CHARLOTTE OSEI AND GRADUATE IN 2020 TO COME AND STAND AGAIN
Who wrote this empty inconsequential piece??
