The Ghana National Association of Teachers (GNAT) would hold its 3rd Quadrennial and 50th National Delegates' Conference from January 3-8, 2010 at the University of Ghana Business School auditorium.
The Conference, which would be under the theme: "Investing in People to Achieve Quality Education by 2015", would attract about 750 delegates and other observers from across the world, Mrs. Irene Duncan-Adanusa, General Secretary, GNAT, told a press conference in Accra on Tuesday.
Highlights of the conference include the official opening by President Mills, round table discussions on topics such as the National Pensions Act, the Single Spine Scheme and the Implications of the New Education Act.
Mrs. Duncan-Adanusa said the National Delegates' Conference was the highest decision making body of the GNAT and also the policy formulation organ.
She said the conference would also be used to elect new national officers. The officers to be elected would include the president, vice president, treasurer and the first and the second trustees.
The officers to be elected would undergo investiture at the closing ceremony at the forecourt of Mensah Sarbah Hall, University of Ghana.
