The heads of senior high schools in Ghana are to extend the second and third terms of the current academic year by a week or two.
They also want to lengthen the daily contact hours especially for boarding schools for the first term by at least one hour.
The president of the Conference of Heads of Assisted Secondary Schools (CHASS), Seth Ofori Adjei, told Citi News that the extension is part of several contingency measures the heads of schools are putting in place to make up for the already lost teaching hours for the first term of the academic year, which begins this week.
