The Stanbic Bank has presented a cheque for $10,000 to the University for Development Studies (UDS) to undertake a programme on African leadership series and help to develop the capacities of emerging African leaders.
The African leadership series is an initiative of the UDS to train African leaders on the practical aspects of leadership to enable them to provide quality leadership for the development of the continent.
Mr Alhassan Andani, Managing Director of Stanbic Bank who presented the cheque to Professor David Millar, Pro-Vice Chancellor of UDS, commended the University for its pioneering role to raise the standards of leadership.
Professor Millar commended Stanbic Bank for its assistance and noted that the Bank had played several roles in contributing to the countys development.
Mr Mawuku Afadzinu, Head of Marketing and Public Relations of Stanbic, said his outfit believed in quality leadership since it was at the heart of development to improve upon the lives of the people.
He said improving upon the quality of leadership was strategic since most of the challenges of development facing Africa were due to poor leadership.
