Authorities of the University of Cape Coast have said that the school won’t be closed down due to clashes between two halls.
According to them, they have restored the halls and it is fit for use.
Speaking on Okay FM’s 'Ade Akye Abia' programme, Acting Director Public Affairs, Mr. Kwabena Antwi-Konadu explained that the matter is under investigation now and that they will ensure that perpetrators are brought to book.
"Let me also assure parents that contrary to what they must have heard or read in the dailies or in the news, no student has been badly harmed or dead in the clash.
"Those who had minor injuries have all been treated and discharged," he said.
"But we are cooperating with the police to ensure that the incident does not happen again," he added.
Several properties were left vandalized and some students injured as a free-for-all fight erupted between students of Atlantic Hall (ATL) and Oguaa Hall of the University of Cape Coast (UCC) Friday night.
It is unclear what triggered the fight but an eye witness said it started after some students of ATL beat up another from Casely Hayford Hall (CASFORD).
The CASFORD student had come to visit a friend at Oguaa Hall, which was marking its Hall Week celebration.
The incident sparked a free-for-all fight, leading to the vandalization of property.

Supposed university students behaving like secondary boys and girls. It started at Tech where equally mentally-deranged boys and girls went on similar, if not high, rampage. They were left free. Others have followed, including SHS who obviously were learning from their blockhead-seniors,and also gone scot-free.Now this!! If the relevant state actors do not act swiftly to investigate this one and prosecute the mentally-deranged culprits, more of these acts by like-minded bastardos shall continue with more terrible consequences.
I wish our Leaders will sit back and think about things going on among the youth. There is decline of discipline in working organization and even our moral standards are also declining .We are happy to have more youth in the working environment .Some have passion to their work but others is by chance they got into that working environment.Example Police ,Doctor ,Nurse etc they work on human beings .Some are doing well but for some are just there because of money. They do not care and their action sometimes lead citizens to death or a worsen situations . We have seen the Police doing something to reduce these bad behaviors .We hope the Health sector and others will come out with something to reduce these bad behaviors .We call on leadership of this nation to deal with people who by their ***barred word*** behavior kill innocent people .Also find away to impart nationalism and good moral status in the youth and take away immoral behaviors, violence ,timidity ,not innovative etc.
