The Ministry of Health on Friday presented a Nissan mini-bus to the Accra Psychiatric Hospital to aid in transporting Hospital staff.
Madam Sherry Ayitey, sector minister who handed over the bus, said it was an interim response to the appeal made by the Hospital during her recent visit.
According to her, effective health service delivery, especially to psychiatric patients was a priority to the government, adding that the only way to appreciate the efforts of those who help these patients was support.
The bus is to help reduce the difficulty the staff encounters on their way to and from work, some even have to work late into the night, this bus is to ensure their safety she said.
Mr Peter Agyemang-Gyau, Director of Health Services at the Hospital, expressed appreciation to the Minister, promising to use it for its intended purpose.
