To assist in the treatment of heart diseases, Awake Purified Drinking Water produced by Ghanaian beverage firm Kasapreko, has donated an amount of GHc20,000 to the National Cardiothoracic Centre at the Korle Bu Teaching Hospital.
The seed capital for the #One4Life project was presented by a team from Kasapreko company ltd led by Mrs. Eunice Adjei Bonsu (Director for Water & Carbonated Soft Drink), Mr. Richard Adjei (CEO Kasapreko company ltd) and Dr. Kwabena Adjei (Group Chairman & Founder of Kasapreko company ltd).
According to Kasapreko’s Director for Water & Carbonated Soft Drink, Mrs Eunice Adjei Bonsu, Awake Water plans a long-term support for the Centre as an amount of GHc0.1p and GHc0.2p on each 500ml and 1.5litres bottle of Awake Water sold, respectively, will be donated to the Cardio Centre.
“We are hoping to donate about GHc100,000 each year to the Centre to pay for heart surgery bills of patients,” Mrs Bonsu stated.
She urged Ghanaians to help support Awake Water to help save a life by purchasing Awake Water to help a patient at the National Cardiothoracic Center.
After visiting some patients at the Cardio wards, Dr. Kwabena Adjei, Group Chairman & Founder of Kasapreko promised to give GHc10,000 from his personal pocket every month for six months to support the plight of people living with various heart conditions.
The Director of the Cardio Centre, Dr. Lawrence Sereboe was thankful and thrilled for the partnership with Awake Water.
Dr. Sereboe lamented that the number is usually made up of children, adding that the trend is very worrying. He further called on corporate Ghana and other organisations to emulate Awake Water.
