A Research Fellow at the IEA, Professor John Asafu-Adjaye has called for the strengthening of state institutions responsible for managing the oil and gas sector.
He said strengthening of such institutions like Parliament, Public Interest and Accountability Committee, and GNPC, will position them better to perform their constitutionally mandated function.
Professor Asafu-Adjaye was delivering a report in Accra after a workshop on Making Ghana's Oil and Gas Resource Count.
He noted that funding issues are inhibiting capacities of bodies such as Public Interest and Accountability Committee.
He therefore called for a review of the Petroleum Revenue and Management Act to provide clarity on funding sources for the PIAC.
