The Bantama District Minister of the Presbyterian Church of Ghana, Reverend Adu Sakyi, has implored the youth to lead a life filled with the Holy Spirit.
According to him, when they avail themselves to be filled with the Holy Spirit, every activity they engage in will glorify God.
Rev Adu Sakyi gave the advice at the 4th Annual Delegates’ Conference of the Presbyterian Brigades Association in Kumasi.
Ninety members participated in the conference, which was on the theme ‘Be Filled with the Holy Spirit: The Anointed Brigader.’
Rev Adu Sakyi noted that there are three characteristics of a person, which are the body, soul and spirit.
However, as Christians, they should allow the spirit to dominate both the soul and body by exhibiting all the fruits of the Holy Spirit in their endeavours.
Moreover, as brigaders, they have been chosen by Jesus Christ for a purpose, thus the need to lead exemplary lives for others to emulate.
Rev Adu Sakyi maintained that God expects all brigade officers to show commitment towards the training of the young ones for them to become responsible adults.
The brigader must, therefore, always depend on the Holy Spirit to work effectively and efficiently.
The Presiding Officer of the Presbyterian Brigades Association, Isaac Kwaku Forkuo, mentioned lack of commitment, inability to make financial contributions, improper training, poor time management, low prayer habit, as well as lateness to meetings as some the challenges confronting the organisation.
Mr Forkuo noted with concern that these challenges go a long way to adversely affect the performance of the organisation.
Mr Forkuo said duties such as receiving and giving out brigade colours, repackaging of companies activities, reporting, performance assessment, band display and officers' welfare should be taken serious.
On the association's achievement, it came to light that during the year under review, three new companies were enrolled, with four companies being prepared for enrolment.
