President John Mahama has officially inaugurated the completed Kwame Nkrumah Circle interchange to open access to traffic from all directions.
The event attracted hundreds of people who wanted to catch a glimpse of the widely publicized project, one of the flagship intiatives by the President and his government in the road sector.
A statue of Ghana's First President, Dr. Kwame Nkrumah, has been placed at the heart of the Circle interchange to reflect the interchange which also comes with additional facilities including a Police Post and a Clinic.
The Neoplan and Tema Stations have also been reconstructed.
One specific aspect of the project which has been the side of attraction in the nights is the "dancing fountain" which has become the cynosure of all eyes.
Some have described it as a mini-Dubai.
The Police MTTU and other law enforcement officers within the Accra Metropolitan Assembly (AMA) have been deployed to help motorists who plying the route for the first time and other new diversions to adjoining routes.
The 74.88 million Euro project was jointly financed with credit from the Brazilian Government and the Ghana Government.

John 3: 16. JM Toasooooo!
LET'S JUST GIVE CREDIT TO WHOM ITS DUE. THE MAN HAS DONE WELL ESPECIALLY THE CIRCLE INTERCHANGE.WE JUST HOPE FOR THE BEST AS GOD SEE US THROUGH. GHANA WINS
Dr. Richard Tia (KNUST lecturer, Chemistry Dept) shares his view on Facebook..... I strongly disagree with Joy FM's Manasseh Azure Awuni's position that the construction of the Kwame Nkrumah Interchange is nothing to be celebrated because "any joker can do it". Kwame Nkrumah Circle was constructed in the 1960s and since then nothing had been done to give it a face-lift befitting a national capital. All of us knew that Kwame Nkrumah Circle was a national disgrace and something needed to be done about it. If John Mahama's government has done it, he needs to be celebrated for it. These days "any joker" can get a second class diploma from GIJ but when Manasseh did it he celebrated "well well" on Facebook and we all congratulated him even though we were aware that people of Manasseh's age were getting Ph.D.s in Europe, America and Asia. If the price is inflated, as almost all of John Mahama's projects are, let's discuss that, but the building of the interchange is a welcome development and we should all praise the government for it. Does the Interchange puts us at par with Dubai as some government propagandists are trying hard to imply? Not by any stretch of common sense! Does John Mahama deserve a second term by virtue of constructing the Interchange? Not at all, in my opinion; John Mahama's negatives far outweigh his positives. But has John Mahama done very well by constructing the Interchange? Absolutely!
Which Tema Station has been reconstructed? I'm there right now and can't see what peace fm on-line is talking about
Interchange, interchange yet most people go hungry.Unpaid salaries, etc. Why use all these monies for infrastructure while your people go hungry.
ye men of short memories I pity ur joblez ***barred word***. Its good to applaud Mahama fr such an inflated project. Jst take ur resumes to circle n get a job there. With all de high taxes collected frm de poor workers we still go about beggn fr loans, whr lies our common senses?! Cluelez govt to de highest degree. 4yrs addition wud be a complete disaster fr dis country. Ghanaians hv made up their minds alredi. Nana reba!!!
Thanks Pre . Mahama for this infrastructure .John the baptist did his work and Jesus continued because each have purpose. Gen 1:2 The earth was without form, and void; and darkness was on the face of the deep. And the Spirit of God was hovering over the face of the waters.Yes infrastructure is important before this there was managing .The spirit of God check everything and made sure things are put in proper place .
For those who are worried about cost, and possible embezzlement, corruption and the rest, let me remind you of an African proverb from the sage: "that you cannot roast yam and not have part of it either burnt or scraped away". Give credit to where credit is due. Ye nom nsa aa, ye hwee kakraa gu fam.JDM Toaso...
