“There are too many mistakes” in the young government of President Nana Akufo-Addo, ex-Moderator of the Presbyterian Church of Ghana, Prof Emmanuel Martey, has said.
Speaking at the graduation ceremony of the Christ Apostolic College in Kumasi over the weekend, Prof Martey, who was a harsh critic of the Mahama administration in the past, condemned what he described as festering corruption in the Akufo-Addo government where some government officials are extorting money from prospective Metropolitan, Municipal and District Chief Executives (MMDCEs).
He says though President Akufo-Addo anti-corruption’s stance and ethics are well-known, his appointees appear to be at variance with his character.
“Minimise your mistakes,” he said, adding Ghana must not be taken backwards but rather forward.

Only three months in office and corruption is already going on? Asembeba dabi. The mess in Npp government is becoming way too much for Ghanaians to handle. Today invisible force, tomorrow delta force, yesterday Rambo force, now the wise man is alleging corruption, is this what Ghanaians voted for. Nana Addo is gradually giving Ghanaians the worst government so far. Nothing has changed for the better, but for the worst. Not a single thing he promised to make life better for Ghanaians has taken off. Only beatings of innocent Ghanaians, seizure of socalled stolen vehicles and sacking of Ghanaians from their posts. We are still waiting for electricity bills to be less than rent.
Tell Nana as it is. This bad culture of party executives, chiefs and opinion leaders extorting money from people who are 'hunting' for positions in the new government is a prerequisite for corruption. let this bad culture stop.
