Ashanti regional Minister Simon Osei-Mensah stormed a church early Saturday to protest “incessant noise making” by the church because of an ongoing all-night service there.
Members of the church, the House of Bethel Ministries at Anwomaso High Tension in the Ashanti region were stunned when the Minister who lives nearby overran the service, demanding its immediate end.
A source close to the development reported that Mr. Osei-Mensah angrily snatched a microphone from one of the church’s singers, knocking a musical instrument to the floor in a bid to vent his spleen over the rowdiness of the service.
The action of the Minister, the source told Ultimate FM’s Isaac Bediako stunned some Junior Pastors of the church leading to a short verbal melee. They thus refused to stop the service, added the source.
The regional Minister, according to the report then went out of the church returning a few minutes later with heavily built Police men who stopped the service abruptly and arrested the Head Pastor Rev. Kwame Takyi.
He was taken to the Tech Police station for questioning and checks from the station indicate that the pastor had since been granted bail.

@kwesi, the regional minister was right in using force to stop the service. Have you considered the response of the pastor to the minister’s request? According to the reportage this is not the first time the church is disturbing the neighbours; it has been going on for some time now. The pastor should have been kept in jail till now; he has no respect for other people’s concerns.
Kokoase Minister. Isn't there a more matured way of handling this? If there is a law against noise pollution, use it through the legal system. The fact he is Regional Minister does not give him the authority to draft Police men along and disrupt church worship. If I was the Pastor, I would sue him. How different is what he did from what soldiers did during military rule? Democracy has its price, Regional Minister.
Mr Minister I agreed the noise was that bad. However you could have handled it in a matured manner. I think sometimes we need to be patient considering the position we hold. So Mr Minister if someone comes to report this to is that the best you can handle it. Please don't forget that you are a leader and leadership requires a lot of patience. On the scale of one to ten, I will give you two over ten(2/10). Don't let pride to take the better part of you because you can do better. You did not do well.
AS FOR THIS, I SUPPORT THE MINISTER, SIME CHURCHES ARE DISTURB TOO MUCH
