The Minority in Parliament has condemned the manner in which the Economic and organized crime office (EOCO) backed by some police personnel descended on the deputy commissioner of the electoral commission, Madam Georgina Opoku Amankwa, to forcibly evict her from office.
Madam Georgina Opoku Amankwa reported to work on Monday 15 January 2018 despite directive by EOCO to step aside for investigations to be carried out into claims of misappropriation of GHS480,000 meant for workers fund.
Her presence in the office caused a scene as officials from the EOCO stormed the EC office to impress on her to leave.
Reacting to this development, Ranking Member of Parliament on the communications committee Alhaji A.B.A Fuseini, saying the incident should not have happened in the first place and slammed the investigative body for engaging in such act.
