A group known as the Dagbon Forum, is demanding an apology from TV3 journalist, Komla Klutse for “disrespecting” Ya Naa Abukari II.
In a statement the group said: "Komla repeatedly asked the King if he had taste for finesse as shown in his reaction upon seeing the Jaguar car, donated by the Government, for the first time. He went further to hold the King’s hand, with emphasis on the Rolex watch he was wearing again repeating the issue of his love for finesse".
The group thus considers the journalist's action as "unprofessional, immature and total disrespect" to the newly-installed Regent of Dagbon, "in terms of his status, age and circumstances".
Below is a copy of the Dagbon Forum's statement.

GJA must be proactive. Some of these journalist are being provocative.
Can you do this to Togbe Afede or Okyehene or Dormaahene or Techimanhene or Juabenmanhene or Mamponghene. Hmmmmmmmmmm
I don't blame the journalist but rather his employers. Mediocre salary gets you mediocre and half baked journalists. The employers should review their employment policies. Ability to speak English with whatever accent does not translate to professional service delivery. An unqualified apology should come from the Management of the TV station as well as the journalist. In fact the journalist should be made to weed the "school park".
THE SAME JOURNALIST WENT TO ASK SILLY QUESTIONS AT GHANA MARITIME AUTHORITY.HE IS UNPROFESSIONAL.
Its our problem. We think whoever speaks good English can easily be a professional Journalist. We are nurturing a deviant society irrespective of disregard for our cultures and customs. The media is 'too known' in this country.
I sensed this when watching the news on TV. Its really unprofessional on the part of the Journalist. He is a highly respected Chief and need to be respected as such. They people require apology. Its legimate.
HIS ACTION WAS DISTASTEFUL DISRESPECTFUL RUDE AND IN VERY BAD TASTE I FULLY SUPPORT THE ACTION OF THE GROUP. I DOUBT IF HE CAN GO TO THE MANAGING DIRECTOR OF TV3 OFFICE HOLD HIS WATCH AND ASK HIM THE KIND OF ***barred word*** QUESTION HE ASKED THE GREAT KING
I support Dagbon Forum. This Unprofessional Komla Kluste should render an apology to the King of Dagbon, the Chieftaincy Institution and people of Ghana for his reckless behavior.
Very unprofessional. At times our journalist lose it during big occasions, always trying to bring attention to themselves rather the occasion making the news.
I have a feeling, in all due respect, that journalism/media profession in Ghana has gone to the dogs. He asked a very cheeky and s.i.l.l.y question. The people around the King should have chased Komla Klutse away. I am repulsed by his interview. He has posted his apology on his Facebook, for me this is not enough. He has to go to the King and render an unqualified apology.
