A-Plus has said customers of Menzgold Ghana Limited who received interest but failed to pay tax should be arrested for tax evasion.
The controversial musician— who was speaking through a Facebook post on Tuesday in the wake of reports that Economic & Organised Crime Office (EOCO) has secured a court order to freeze properties of embattled Chief Executive Officer of Menzgold Nana Appiah Mensah (NAM 1) — said customers should have paid tax on percentages they made on their investments.
“If Menzgold customers are asking government to pay their investments then government must also arrest all Menzgold costumer’s (sic) who received interest but failed to pay tax on their income for tax evasion. Wicked and greedy citizens. Even those who receive 12% or less a year pay tax.
“You were taking 120% a year but refused to pay tax. Now you say what? Government should use the tax we pay on 12% a year to pay you who refused to pay tax on 120% a year? The thing you people are saying noh does it make sense to you?” A-Plus wrote on Facebook.
“Menzgold must present a total list of all those who received interest to the Ghana Revenue Authority to be arrested and prosecuted. Nam1 “thief you.” You too you “thief government.” Thief man thief thief man…. if you don’t understand go and invest in Womenzsilver,” he added.
On Tuesday, January 29, 2019, EOCO, in a statement signed by the Head of Public Affairs at EOCO, Jacqueline Avotri, revealed it has secured a court order to go after all properties belonging to Nana Appiah Mensah.
This is part of efforts to pay off frustrated customers of Menzgold.
But, A-Plus says the customers must also be dealt with because they also faulted in the Menzgold saga.

How much do fixed deposits in Ghana Commercial/ Investment banks pay in taxes to government? Do people decide tax laws in Ghana? How much do you personally send to IRS on your private income? Must Ghanaians who do business with a Ghanaian company be protected by their government? Stop adding insults to injury, it doesn’t help! We live in a society where galamsey is legal, and people change money in the black market and so on....It’s important to understand how things work before you speak out on them.
Though I did not invest in Menzgold, there is no where I heard Menzgold customers saying gov should pay them back with taxpayers money. I do not know why people keep twisting this issue when Menzgold customers cry for the return of their monies. All the people want is for government to get hold of their money with Menzgold and give it back to them because it looks like government doesn't care. That's all the Menzgold customers are asking for. Pisses me off when people twist it the other way round as if menzgold customers want taxpayers money,
