The sister of Ruth Quayson, one of the kidnapped girls says she can help the court to arrest the alleged police investigator who assisted the suspect kidnapper to escape jail.
Nana Adwoa Quayson said, “I have done a little investigation and I know who the CID officer is. I suspected him long ago.”
The suspect in the kidnapping of three girls in Takoradi revealed in court Monday that a police investigator helped him break jail.
Samuel Oudoterg Willson told the court he does not know the name of the said officer but he can identify him.
Besides that officer, the suspect said one Kwesi helped him with oil which facilitated his cutting of the metal bars used to barricade the windows of the cell.
Mr. Willson, however, noted that he is not aware of the current location of the said Kwesi and pleaded for some time from the court to locate him.
Speaking on NEAT FM’s morning show ‘Ghana Montie’, Nana Adwoa Quayson whose sister Ruth Quayson is still missing till now told host Kwesi Aboagye that “I was not surprise when I heard that from the suspect”.
“Even when the guy escaped, no one called to inform us [Family] from the police station, so I called the CID handling the case to confirm the escape but he didn’t give us any reasonable answer,” she said.
According to Nana Adwoa, families of the girls have, however, expressed their displeasure with current proceedings.
She warned that “If the police try to make this issue a foolish case and protect the CID involved, trust me no police CID will be safe here. The CID must face the law with the kidnapper.”
The Gender and Social Protection Minister, Cynthia Morrison recently visited the families, assuring them that the girls are alive.
“. .so if they are alive, where are they,” Nana Adwoa Quayson quizzed – after threatening a demonstration in the Western regional capital if the police “fail to fish out the CID”.
Priscilla Bentum was abducted in August 2018 while Ruth Quayson and Mantebea Koranchie were taken in December the same year.

In as much as we are all in a sorrowful mood praying that our sisters will be brought back alive, the threats and unguarded statement from the sister Nana Adwoa puts me off. Is she can find her sister why not she can go ahead and find her instead of using unguarded statement. It's really hurting when something like this happens but she should take hearth and have faith in the Lord rather than issue threats that will go no where. You organise demonstration and what? Will the demo bring our sisters back. Let's please trust the police and believe in God and all shall be well soon. I pray with all concerned for our sisters. Let's all help
