Three police officers who allegedly assaulted three journalists working with the Ghanaian Times newspaper have been interdicted.
The three officers are Inspector Issac Opare of the Ministries Division/Accra; Sgt. Ebenezer Akrofi of the Accra Regional Police Headquarters and L/Cpl. Evans Kofi Ntim of the Police Visibility/Accra.
A statement signed by the Director-General of Public Affairs of the Police Service, ASP David Eklu said the Inspector-General of Police (IGP), David Asante Apeatu, has also directed the Accra Regional Crime Officer to take over the investigation from the Ministries’ Police Station.
Per the release, the IGP “has further directed the Accra Regional Crime Officer to take over the investigation of the case from Ministries Police Station. He has also instructed the Commander of the Accra Central Motor Traffic Unit to take over the Motor Traffic Accident aspect of the case. Both are to Submit their reports in one week"
“Additionally, the Police Professional and Standard Bureau (PPBS) has also been directed to look into the conduct of the Police officers who were on duty at the Ministries Police Station when the incident was reported,” the statement added.

Oh Mr IGP, I do not think this will also be normal police investigating themselves matter...hhhmmmm we live to see...
Interdicting them is not sufficient, as the police is going to prosecute the driver and his mate who assaulted police officer, they must as well prosecute three police officers who assaulted three journalists working with the Ghanaian Times newspaper. This will give confident to general public the law has no respect for anyone
