Vice President Dr. Mahamadu Bawumia will lead an economic management team town hall meeting with stakeholders on the economy on April 3 in Accra.
Minister for Information Kojo Oppong Nkrumah who disclosed this at a Press Briefing in Accra said the vice President who is also the head of the Economic Management Team will be speaking on the theme “our progress, our status, our future”.
He said the Town Hall Meetings are designed to bring government closer to the people and shall therefore see State actors give an account to the people who also have an opportunity to ask questions and make contributions to the local and national development process.
“The Meetings represent a major shift in Government’s policy to make information easily accessible and usable to the public here in and outside Ghana. This is guided by the Government’s desire to create a very inclusive and participatory society in ensuring that the citizenry here in Ghana and abroad are not only consumers of the development process but are creators and generators of the process” he said.
The Minister said the platform reflects government’s belief that, the lasting benefits of policies, plans and programs will only be derived through constant engagement with the beneficiaries far and near.
The much anticipated engagement will be attended by civil society groups, economic think tanks, trade unions and stakeholders in the financial sector.

Peacefmonline, where is your initial publication on this on 20 March 2019 and it's attendant comments by readers. Have you removed it from your website. Were the comments making you uncomfortable? The fact is those who want to be schooled by the vice president should carry their pens and note books as well as laptops to record Dr. Bawumiah's delivery on the state of the Ghanaian economy. Some may disagree with him but it is worthwhile to cease the opportunity and listen to him. By and large, he may put some of speculations to rest. A govt makes a demand for $3billion from financial partners and is told you qualify for $31 billion. Think about that.
heeeeee!wonders will never end. so is this vice president living in Ghana? does he has anything to offer to the good people of Ghana? I think it will be very prudent for these stakeholders to go by their daily activities and ignore this invitation by this clueless veep who has nothing to offer than to waste their precious time. the real time is ahead of us and this npp govt and their chief liar will surely run away from this country b'cos they have nothing to offer for the citizens
Ofuiii, he thinks buy 3rd April the Euro Bond and other loans have hit the Bank of Ghana to shore up the Cedi and so will have something to say. That's lazy man's approach in solving the Cedi depreciation as said by himself. Bawuliar is a text-book economist! He is needed in the classroom not in the management of a country's economy. LIARMIA!!!
This time round ADONGO will be waiting!!! Come very prepared!!
Does he has something to offer this time round? i head he now sleep under his bed, the wife doesnt trust him anymore and will not allow him to sleep by her
