Celebrated Pathologist and former Director-General of the Ghana Health Service (GHA), Professor Agyemang Badu Akosa has thrown a challenge to the police hierarchy after their public announcement of the DNA test results confirming the death of the four missing Takoradi girls.
The health practitioner doubts the result which was announced by the acting Inspector General of Police, James Oppong-Boanuh on Monday.
“DNA is the highest level of integrity. Who can swear by this?” He questioned the police service in an interview on NeatFM's "Ghana Montie" show.
The police on Monday announced that human remains it had found from a septic earlier this year were those of the four missing Takoradi girls after DNA analysis. But many have doubted the results including the families of the girls and many other individuals.

So Prof. Is this the best roubbish you can spew? You doubt the work of other professionals? Okay have you considered that the police will just collaborate and lie about a highly verifiable investigation? If the girls are alive, they could surface at anytime and can you imagine the embarrassment of the police?
This is a so called pathologist who claims he is Ghanaian and yet questioning the work that his own colleagues have done. If not vindictiveness, what else would make a professional behave the way that Akosa is behaving? Some of these elderly people are becoming a nuisance to our society. A pathologist indeed!
African _Ghanaian pathologist indeed!Don;t believe in D.N.A. result his own colleague has done because it is been done in Ghana. As a professor he should have called for more information of the result before coming out and make any comments. In else world he could have done vividly research on this serious matter before making any criticism not just mere political or book long talk as we normally call it.
I am surprised at the way Prof. Akosa is handling this DNA. Is he telling us that he does not trust the work done by his colleague pathologist? I believe if he has issues, the best approach is to contact the team that carried out the DNA and get adequate briefing about the method, procedures and processes used in arriving at the results at a PROFESSIONAL LEVEL. This social media approach by Prof Akosa should be condemned. He is not behaving as a Professional with his approach. The Medical and Dental Council should call him to order. The fact that he is a Professor does not make him the epitome of Pathology or for that matter any field of study in Pathology. Anyway has he carried out any DNA test before?
can't u guys get ur opinions accross without insults. DO u guys have any idea about forensic pathology. Stop this ***barred word*** of insults on social media and take the politics out of it . The report from the IGP was incomplete and mediocre .As a medical professional myself working outside the country, i agree with him. The full report must be made available to clear all doubts. The girls were abducted at different times . It takes bodies different amount of times to decompose. How many set of bones were discovered. How were they killed. In what state was the bodies found.
its soon going to be your children affected and being in this brutal situation. hopefully you will be ok with another person condemning this one. ***barred word*** with politics mentality.
So can't anyone give his/her opinion and not be subjected to personal insults? What is wrong with asking for an independent opinion? It is consistent with science and even the police officer who did the analysis in his closing remarks with Israel Laryea during an interview agreed they would not object if the family asked for a second opinion. Do you know the consequences if per chance something went wrong during the analysis? That could change the whole narrative about this case! So the families have the right to be fully satisfied that indeed their worst fears have been confirmed! Those of you insulting Prof and twisting it along political and chieftaincy lines shame on you! By now you have not even completed primary 6 yet you have the temerity to hide behind digital media to insult a full professor!
I am glad the Kwahus refused him as Omanhene. He doesn't know nothing.
Ghana de3 smh...so what is professor Akosah's problem? Is he implying that the DNA scientist who performed the analysis are incompetent? If he wants a second opinion, he should pay for the test. Undermining our own institutions and turning around to complain about the exact same institutions is not particularly wise. I am sure if the results were published by a British lab he wouldn't be raising any thoughts. The domesticated African cockerel Kwame Nkrumah left doesn't want to local millet anymore, he now wants hamburgers.
This so-called Professor is so full of himself, it’s beyond “nauseating”. What a piece of work, God help us! Where did this country go wrong. He really is a joke par excellence. Tweaaa.
