Dr Collins Agyemang-Badu, Department of Psychology, University of Ghana says there is the need to ‘communicate more electronically’ to avoid boredom following the outbreak of the coronavirus.
“Psychologically, we need to communicate more through electronic means; video conferencing and so on because if we don’t take care, boredom can also set in and it can create another problem. We need to sustain the wellbeing of everyone,” he posited.
Dr Agyemang-Badu, who was speaking in an interaction on Peace FM morning show ‘Kokrokoo’, bemoaned the fact that people are using social distancing to slowly enter into a realm of ceasing all forms of communication with friends, colleagues and family members.
According to him, the fact that there should be social distancing does not mean there should be no communication.
“We need to change social distancing to physical distancing; social distancing does not mean there should be no communication. Social distancing, if we want to solve this menace in Ghana should be understood as physical distancing,” he stated.
