The National Service Scheme (NSS) has directed all Service Personnel to resume work on Monday, May 4, 2020.
Additionally, all newly-posted nurses who were due to start national service in April 2020, are also to resume work effective May 4, 2020.
The directive follows a one-month mandatory paid-leave it directed the personnel to embark on March 26, 2020, due to the outbreak of COVID-19 in Ghana.
"This special arrangement where put in place in order to protect all personnel from Novel Corona Virus(COVID-19)," the NSS said in a press release.
"Note that those within the non-Subvented Institutions shall consult their institutions for new development. National Service Personnel are to take note that their Service ends on 1st September 2020 and schools across the country remain closed and will be opened at the appropriate time.
"Management of the Scheme is committed to the safety and welfare of all national service personnel nationwide and therefore directs all user agencies and national service personnel to comply accordingly, and ensure the use of nose mask and sanitizers to mitigate the spread of the CORONAVIRUS".
